Our Manifest:

"Eretz Israel was the birthplace of the Jewish people. Here their spiritual, religious and political identity was shaped. Here they first attained statehood, created cultural values of national and universal significance and gave the world the eternal Book of Books. After being forcibly exiled from their land, the people kept faith with it throughout their Dispersion and never ceased to pray and hope for their return to it and for the restoration in it of their political freedom."

For two millennia, the Jewish people held fast to their belief in the Creator and the promise of their return to Zion. The age-old dream of the return to Zion and the creation of an enlightened society, whose guiding light is the Jewish heritage, began to materialize with the founding of the Zionist movement. The people of Israel's right to Eretz Israel was reaffirmed in the Balfour Declaration and the League of Nations mandate, and was partially realized when the State of Israel was established in 1948. Since then, the people have concentrated upon building a model State and gathering in its dispersed children.

At the end of the Six Day War, which was provoked by Arab determination to destroy the State, Israel had returned to the heart of Eretz Israel; Jerusalem was reunified, Judea, Samaria, the Gaza strip and the Golan Heights were liberated from the yoke of Arab occupation.

Since the signing of the Oslo Accords in 1993, the process of rebuilding the Land has suffered a serious setback. Portions of Eretz Israel were handed over frivolously to an enemy and, in 2000, the Arabs of Eretz Israel embarked upon an all-out war against the State, a war being waged to this day. Israel, moreover, has relinquished control over the Temple Mount. The political and military retreat has been accompanied by a general deterioration in moral, social and ethical values within the State. Many national leaders have despaired of achieving Zionism's goals.

Therefore, we, the members of the Movement for Zionist Renewal in Eretz Israel have gathered to declare:

  1. The State of Israel is a Jewish state. Its establishment and existence are a fulfillment of the right and obligation of the Jewish people to national revival in its Land.
  2. Jewish sovereignty over Eretz Israel is an act of historic justice and the essence of Political Zionism.
  3. The defense of Israel's citizens must rest solely with the defense forces of the State.
  4. Neither the State of Israel nor the Jewish people have the authority to recognize foreign sovereignty over the heartland of the Jewish national homeland. Such recognition defies justice, contradicts the legitimate national aspirations of the people of Israel throughout the ages and undermines our right to any other part of Eretz Israel, endangering, thereby, the very existence of the State.
  5. We aspire for true peace between the State of Israel and the Arab nations, a peace founded upon:
    1. The right of any Jew to live peacefully in any place in the world, particularly in Eretz Israel.
    2. The recognition of Eretz Israel as the national homeland of the Jews.
    3. A regional solution with the participation of the Arab nations, permitting Arabs in Eretz Israel to become citizens and residents of the Arab nations.
  6. We strive to assure equal rights to all residents loyal to the State of Israel as the Jewish State.
  7. The forcible expulsion of people from their homes only because of their ethnic or religious identity is ethically and morally corrupt. The command to uproot them is ipso facto illegal, as defined by the Supreme Court of Israel.
  8. The State of Israel shall be founded upon the following principles and will strive to achieve the following goals:
    1. The ingathering of the Jewish Diaspora in Eretz Israel.
    2. A democratic State.
    3. The establishment of a just society, demonstrating concern for every human being as a human being.
    4. The fostering of all forms of Jewish culture.
    5. A Jewish educational system based upon the Jewish heritage, the Hebrew language and the Hebrew calendar.
    6. A legal system based upon the venerable Jewish legal tradition and upon universal moral values.
    7. The commitment to insuring the peace and security of Jews wherever they may be.
  9. We call upon the nations of the world to support this declaration of principles as the basis for true and lasting peace in the Middle East.
We, the members of the Movement for Zionist Renewal, call upon all the citizens of Israel to be partners in this endeavor, the fulfillment of the age-old dream of the national rebirth of the Jewish people in its homeland.
