Welcome to the Movement for Zionist Renewal

October 12th 2005: We would like to congratulate professor Israel Robert John Aumann, a distinguished member of the movement, for the Nobel Prize in Economics he was awarded!

AIMS AND PURPOSES

Israel’s growing social divisions and inadequate leadership have reached alarming proportions following the government’s decision to expel Jews from their homes in the Gaza Strip and northern Samaria. Those at the helm of the nation have abandoned Jewish values, ignored our national aspirations and destroyed our national cohesiveness, thereby endangering our future. Manipulated by a media which has increasingly demonstrated a post-Zionist orientation, is it any wonder that large segments of the Israeli public and the political elite have lost hope?

In view of the above, distinguished citizens, many with impressive records in public service, have banded together to revitalize and re-legitimize Zionism in Israel.

Realizing that the people of Israel need:

  1. A non-partisan, apolitical, national movement to represent them and the just claims of the nation as a whole,
  2. An ideologically orientated framework for all those who believe that the Land of Israel and the State of Israel are the national home of the Jewish people alone,

they have founded The Movement for Zionist Renewal. Among the founders of the movement are distinguished representatives of many non-political, non-governmental organizations. The Movement is open to Zionists of every religious persuasion who agree with its Declaration of Principles, abide by its Rules and Regulations, and pay the membership fee.

In contrast to the vast monies available for post-Zionist and anti-Zionist activities, pro-Zionist endeavors have suffered from a chronic paucity of funds. The Movement’s first priority, therefore, is to establish the Zionist Foundation for Israel for the purpose of channeling contributions to worthy Zionist-oriented projects, encourage cooperative endeavors between the existing organizations and initiate new ones.

The Fund will support,

  1. Educational programs for pre-schoolers to adults and creative, cultural and communal activities in order to reinstate the Zionist ethos in Israel
  2. Legal and popular initiatives aimed at government officials and institutions for the preservation of Israel as a Zionist State.

One of the movement's important tasks is attracting interest from among the Olim, whose potential for patriotism and zionism has yet to be fathomed in our society.

The Renewed Zionist Movement will be the spiritual and ideological impetus for revitalized Zionism’s campaign against post-Zionism and anti-Zionism. A national movement whose ideology is clear and which proposes a well thought out program for our continued existence in the Land of Israel will assure that, in the future, indeed, the State of Israel will be a Jewish State guided by the unity of the Jewish people and committed to the Land of Israel and the richness and wisdom of the Jewish heritage.
